Tarka is simply a dream come true for me. When I first ventured onto the Fjallfarmens website quite a few years ago now, I was instantly smitten by a stunning red dog, Fjallfarmens Brune Baloo. I thought how fortunate I would be if I could ever have a Lappie like him. As time passed, I learnt that a mating that Winnie had planned for a long time was about to happen, that of her lovely brown girl Black Blossom Miss Toffee to Brune Baloo. Luckily for me, five boys (and one girl) resulted. Once again, Winnie and Ola graciously gave of their best (in every way) to me and Tarka winged his way into my arms. My thanks to them are endless.
Tarka has matured into a extraordinary young man. With his long and lustrous coat, his red brown colouring and beautiful markings are very striking. I am very pleased that as a sire, he seems to be prepotent for passing on several of his positive attributes to his puppies, these being a short, strong muzzle, excellent bone and well defined rear angulation. He is a very loving, affectionate and submissive dog, which makes him an absolute delight to live with. The bond between Tarka and Jaska is so strong and quite remarkable for two stud dogs. It’s almost as if they somehow know that they were born in the same place on the opposite side of the world. Like Jaska, Tarka has a line tracing directly to the dogs of the Sami breeders through
